About Us
We are a small family run nursery situated 8 miles north of Oxford and just 2 miles from Blenheim Palace in Woodstock. All our staff have a wide range of horticultural knowledge and are always pleased to offer any help or advice our customers may require. As an old-fashioned nursery we strive to preserve the traditional values, i.e. sound, friendly advice & a huge selection of top quality plants. Our prices are generally about 30% less expensive than national garden centers and we don't believe in silly '99p' to create the impression of a bargain, so where you may pay £2.99 elsewhere you will probably find ours is £2
Opening Times
Our opening times through the winter months are 10am - 6pm (or dark). We are closed most Tuesdays until spring.
Delivery Price Guide
The "add to cart" buttons all exclude delivery. An approximate delivery price will be calculated when you come to enter your payment details. We will recalculate the delivery price when we receive your order to ensure that it is correct, and refund you where appropriate. At the moment we receive payments by google checkout but we will be changing this to an online secure card payment facility in a few days. Bird Seed We have a range of 'Johnson & Jeffs' bird seed, from bulk value sacks to smaller bags, packed by us. We also have bird feeders, meals worms and fat balls available from the nursery - pop in to have a browse | Hedging Bareroot hedging in bundles of 5, 10 and 25, including Beech, Hornbeam, Rugosa rose, Thorn and Privet. Also potted and root-ball hedging, including yew and laurel We can deliver larger items locally by our own transport or on pallets nationally, for bulk amounts please enquire. | Iron Garden Furniture and Sundries We have a changing range new, old and vintage iron benches, tables, gazebos and chairs, as well as old fashioned watering cans, baths, vases and more. Great for adding a unique, quirky touch to the garden. |
Fruit Trees A huge range of 2 year-old bareroot fruit trees including old favourites, and new varieties, of apples, pears, cherries and plums. | Roses Over 200 varieties of bareroot roses, from 2ft patio roses to 20ft ramblers - there's something to suit every sized garden. Plant in beds, borders, containers, as hedging or specimen plants. | Oak Barrels & Tubs Our oak whiskey barrels are great for using as planters, or as tables. They range from from 16" half tubs to whole 100 gallon hogshead barrels. |
Seed Potatoes & Onion Sets Choose from first early, second early and maincrop seed potatoes - a wide choice of varieties. We also have red and yellow shallots, all ready for spring planting. | Ornamental Trees We have a wide range of bareroot ornamental trees, with something to suit most sized gardens. From native oaks to beautiful silver birch | Truffle Trees Grow your own truffles. Truffle trees are Oak or Hazel trees that have been innoculated with Summer Truffle spores. After a few years of planting your tree, truffles will start to form in the soil around the tree. |
Tree Ferns Tree ferns (Dicksonia antarctica) are impressive, hardy plants with elegant, spreading fronds atop a thick trunk. They are native to Australia and Tasmania and grow happily in our climate, creating an eye-catching display in the garden. | Soft Fruit A wide choice of bareroot soft fruit including strawberries, raspberry canes, gooseberries and blackcurrants, with varieties to suit any sized plot.
